The Springfield Junior Thunderbirds are excited to announce this year's coaching staff for National Bound (Boarding School) Midget teams:

U18: Kevin Stevens and Victor Teleguine

Stevens played 874 career NHL games for the Penguins, Bruins, Kings, Flyers and Rangers. The Brockton, Mass., native and former Boston College Eagle tallied 329 goals and 397 career NHL assists and was a member of Team USA's 1988 Olympics team. Stevens currently works for Power Forward.

U16: Chris Orszulak, Matt Foley

Orszulak was a Cathedral High School and Amherst College standout. Chris won the D2 state title with the Panthers in 1996 and won the Amo Bessone award as the top WMass HS player in 1997.

Matt Foley is the Director Junior Thunderbirds Hockey School & Director of Hockey Operations: Matt has been involved with the Junior Thunderbirds since its inception. Beginning as a player in the organization, he has stayed involved through coaching teams as well as running skills clinics and the annual Junior Thunderbirds Hockey School. Matt graduated from Yale in 2020, where he played defense on the hockey team for four years.  

U15: Ryan Cloonan

Ryan has been with JR TBIRDS/Rifles since 2016, as a coach or instructor at camps. Ryan also played professionally for the Wheeling Nailers, after his 4-year college career at Boston University. As a forward at BU, Ryan played in 3 NCAA National Tournaments and won 1 Hockey East Championship.

• U15: 12 p.m. noon
• U16: 1:10 p.m.
• U18 and U19: 2:20 p.m.
