Michael Zaranek named Director of Girls hockey for JR TBirds

The Springfield Junior Thunderbirds are excited to announce that Michael Zaranek has been named Director of Girls hockey for the organization.

More on Michael:

Currently Asst. Coach for Pope Francis Girls Hockey and has been with the program since its inception.

Has coached all levels from Mites to High School, both boys and girls. Mike played 4 Years at Elmira College, racking up more than 100 points in his career.

He also played juniors under Gary Dineen and the Springfield Olympics.

Winner of 2 NEJHL Championships.

Ludlow High Graduate and athletic Hall of Fame inductee.

Presently, Mike serves as Director of Golf at Brattleboro Country Club in VT. He has three children: Jacob, Caitlyn and Ben. Ben served as a 4- year Goaltender at Pope Francis.

"I'm looking forward to developing the future of girls hockey in the 413. With proper coaching, communication, and focus on skill development, we can make the girls' hockey dreams a reality."
