The Springfield JR Thunderbirds are excited to announce Andrew Wright as the Director of Player Development.

In this newly created position Andrew will work with all youth teams and youth coaches to create more uniform practice planning and skill development throughout the organization. He will also coach a youth team next season. In addition. Andrew will introduce some offseason development opportunities in an angling and battle camp focusing on technique and strategy. Andrew is big on creating good habits and attention to detail.

As a player. Andrew was a three-year varsity player at Cathedral high school. He was team Captain, 2 time first team All Western Mass and a Bessone trophy finalist.

Andrew is currently the Head Coach of Pope Francis Varsity B team, assistant Varsity A coach and head skills and player development coach at Pope Francis (Varsity, Varsity B and JV). He has 10 years coaching experience U12 to U18 including 5 years Varsity assistant and 2 years head Varsity B at Pope Francis Prep
